For the Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions Chopped for garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds Can be omitted if preferred.

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover the bowl and let the steak marinate at room temperature for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the steak marinates, preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of oil to the pan to prevent sticking and enhance the searing process. Allow the skillet to heat for about 2–3 minutes until it shimmers.
  3. Once the pan is hot, carefully remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Place the marinated steak bites in a single layer in the skillet, searing for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  4. After cooking, transfer the Sweet and Sticky Steak Bites to a serving platter. Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the top. Serve warm alongside toothpicks or with rice and salads.
