Ingredients

For the Carrots
  • 1 lb fresh carrots baby or slender whole
  • 2 Tbsp butter can substitute with plant-based butter if vegan
For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup can be replaced with honey or agave syrup
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme use half if using dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Large skillet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by washing your fresh, tender carrots thoroughly under running water. Trim the tops and tails, then cut them into uniform sizes, about 2-3 inches long, to ensure even cooking.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat. Once the butter is bubbling gently, add the prepared carrots along with a splash of water to create steam. Cover the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes.
  3. Carefully uncover the skillet, allowing the steam to escape. Stir in ¼ cup of maple syrup, a teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix well and continue cooking uncovered for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Once the glaze has reached a beautiful, syrupy consistency, remove the skillet from heat. Let the Maple Glazed Carrots with Thyme cool slightly for a minute before serving.
