Step-by-Step Instructions for Kashmiri Pink Chai
  1. Begin by boiling 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan over high heat.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add in 2 tablespoons of the green tea.
  3. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and allow to boil for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Now, add the whole spices to the boiling mixture.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the tea simmer gently for 20-30 minutes.
  6. After simmering, stir in 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  7. Next, add 2 cups of whole milk to the simmering tea mixture.
  8. Once you see the lovely pink color achieved, remove the saucepan from heat.
  9. To serve, sweeten the chai with sugar or honey to your taste.
