Coating
  • 2 cups Flamin’ Hot Cheetos or regular Cheetos for less heat
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour gluten-free flour can be used
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
Cheese Sticks
  • 2 large Eggs for a vegan version, use a flax egg
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 16 ounces Mozzarella String Cheese Sticks or other cheese like pepper jack
Cooking
  • 1 spray Olive Oil Cooking Spray or other cooking sprays

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Crush the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos into fine crumbs using a food processor and set aside in a shallow bowl.
  2. In a separate dish, combine the all-purpose flour and salt to taste, and mix well.
  3. Whisk the large eggs and water in another bowl until fully combined.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Dip each mozzarella cheese stick in egg wash, roll in the flour mixture, coat again with egg wash, and finally coat with crushed Cheetos.
  6. Place coated cheese sticks on the lined baking sheet and freeze for about 50 minutes.
  7. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F.
  8. Lightly spray the cheese sticks with olive oil and air fry them in batches for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve immediately with dipping sauces.
