Equipment

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, olive oil, pure maple syrup, dried sage, kosher salt, ground black pepper, red pepper flakes, and nutmeg. Use your hands to gently mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into patties roughly 3 to 3.5 inches in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of canola oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  4. Carefully add the turkey sausage patties to the skillet without crowding and cook for about 3 minutes on one side.
  5. Once browned, flip the patties and lower the heat slightly to medium. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Remove the cooked patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
