- In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and kosher salt. Whisk until no lumps remain.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth. Pour into dry mixture.
- Gently stir the batter until combined. Divide into two bowls; add black food coloring to one and mix.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes and grease with butter.
- Using a squeeze bottle filled with black batter, draw a spiderweb onto the skillet.
- Pour the regular batter over the spiderweb design completely covering it. Cook until bubbles form, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip the pancake carefully and cook until golden brown for another 2 minutes.
