Serving
  • 1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup Alternative sweeteners like honey or agave work too.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • non-stick skillet
  • Squeeze Bottle

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and kosher salt. Whisk until no lumps remain.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth. Pour into dry mixture.
  3. Gently stir the batter until combined. Divide into two bowls; add black food coloring to one and mix.
  4. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes and grease with butter.
  5. Using a squeeze bottle filled with black batter, draw a spiderweb onto the skillet.
  6. Pour the regular batter over the spiderweb design completely covering it. Cook until bubbles form, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Flip the pancake carefully and cook until golden brown for another 2 minutes.
  8. Serve pancakes stacked on a plate, drizzled with syrup, and enjoy!
