Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Halloween Bat Cupcakes
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water (or milk), and vegetable oil as per the box instructions, stirring until the batter is smooth.
  2. Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 19-23 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Once completely cooled, frost your cupcakes using a star piping tip with chocolate frosting, creating a beautiful swirl on top.
  4. Cut Oreos in half and place them on each side of the frosting swirl to resemble bat wings.
  5. Press candy decor eyes into the center of the frosted swirl on each cupcake to bring them to life.
  6. Chill the finished cupcakes in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes to firm up the frosting and decorations. Serve immediately or store at room temperature for up to two days.
