Step-by-Step Instructions for Halloween Bat Cupcakes
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water (or milk), and vegetable oil as per the box instructions, stirring until the batter is smooth.
- Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 19-23 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once completely cooled, frost your cupcakes using a star piping tip with chocolate frosting, creating a beautiful swirl on top.
- Cut Oreos in half and place them on each side of the frosting swirl to resemble bat wings.
- Press candy decor eyes into the center of the frosted swirl on each cupcake to bring them to life.
- Chill the finished cupcakes in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes to firm up the frosting and decorations. Serve immediately or store at room temperature for up to two days.
