Ingredients

For the Fudge
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk Essential for achieving creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder Use unsweetened for rich chocolate flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Salted Butter Unsalted butter is a viable substitution.
For the Coating
  • 1 cup Grated Chocolate or Chocolate Sprinkles Chocolate chips can also work.
For the Mice
  • 12 medium Strawberries Opt for medium-sized for optimal coverage.
  • 1/2 cup Roasted Peanuts Use for ears; sliced almonds work too.
  • 1/4 cup Colored Shaped Sprinkles For eyes and noses.

Equipment

  • Medium heavy-bottomed pan
  • Plate
  • knife
  • Spoon
  • Airtight container

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Grease a plate to prevent sticking. In a medium heavy-bottomed pan, combine the sweetened condensed milk and sifted cocoa powder, mixing them well while the heat is off.
  2. Turn on the heat to medium, adding the salted butter to the pan. Stir constantly to fully incorporate the butter into the mixture.
  3. Once bubbling starts, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue stirring for about 7–8 minutes until thickened.
  4. After reaching the desired consistency, transfer the fudge to the greased plate and let it cool slightly.
  5. While the fudge cools, wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly and remove the green leaves.
  6. Wet your hands with a little water to prevent the fudge from sticking. Take a portion of the cooled fudge and wrap it around a strawberry, rolling it gently.
  7. Once wrapped, roll the fudge-covered strawberry in grated chocolate or chocolate sprinkles until fully coated.
  8. Shape small pieces of fudge into tails and attach them to the back of each strawberry. Use halved peanuts for ears.
  9. Refrigerate the finished Strawberry and Chocolate Fudge Mice for about 15–30 minutes before serving.
